Advances in nerve damage repair

A new way of repairing severed nerves in humans may be closer to reality thanks to observing how invertebrates repair nerve damage.

Currently nerve damage in humans can take months or years to repair.

The study, by researchers at the University of Texas, has had some success in repairing severed nerve axons in rats, showing a significant improvement on current nerve repair procedures.
