The University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee is a public research university. It is the largest university in the Milwaukee metropolitan area and a member of the University of Wisconsin System.

The university has 27,813 students and 1,623 faculty members.The University consists of 14 schools and colleges, and 70 academic centers, institutes and laboratory facilities.
