Female victims of physical and sexual abuse are almost twice as likely to have a food addiction as adults than women without a history of abuse.
The likelihood of food addiction increases even further for women who had experienced both physical and sexual abuse in childhood, according to a study published in the Obesity Journal.
The findings provide important new information regarding potential causes and treatments for food addiction and obesity.
