Amy Pope

I am a Principal Lecturer in Physics and Astronomy. I am focused on the teaching mission of the university. I work with students in general education physics courses and engage them through the promotion of critical thinking, interpretation of real-world situations and assessing information. I am an advocate of gamification in the classroom, working to minimize achievement gaps and am active in community outreach. I teach the Physics of Sports, an introductory course designed to draw students into taking physics who otherwise would not have this experience.
