I am a Senior Lecturer in Medical Ethics and Law at St George's, University of London. I have studied medicine, philosophy and medical education and I have completed a PhD in Law. My current research interests span global health ethics and law, public health ethics and law, and the use of novel e-Learning materials in the teaching and assessment of healthcare ethics and law. I am the Secretary of the Institute of Medical Ethics (IME) and I am also the Chair of the IME Research Committee and a member of the IME Education Committee.I am also a member of the UNESCO Chair in Bioethics Research Department and the UNESCO Chair in Bioethics International Forum of Teachers. Since 2010 I have been an ex officio member of the St George's Clinical Ethics Committee and since 2014 I have been a Fellow of The Higher Education Academy. I am deeply committed to the idea that academics should engage with the public and I regularly give media interviews in English and Welsh.
