Christopher P. Scheitle

Christopher P. Scheitle is a sociologist at West Virginia University. His research examines the social structure and dynamics of religion in the United States, with particular interests in issues connected to religion and science and religious discrimination and victimization. His most recent books are The Faithful Scientist: Experiences of Anti-Religious Bias in Scientific Training (New York University, 2023) and Religion vs. Science: What Religious People Really Think (Oxford University, 2018, with Elaine Howard Ecklund). He has research has been supported by the National Science Foundation, the John Templeton Foundation, as well as other agencies.
