Gedion Onyango is a Research Fellow at the London School of Economics and Political Science’s Firoz Lalji Institute for Africa (FLIA). He is also a Senior Research Associate at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa.Gedion has more than a decade of teaching experience and student mentorship in Higher Education.He has taught at the University of Nairobi, where he was a senior lecturer, and at the University of the Western Cape, South Africa. He has also been a guest lecturer at other universities across Europe and Canada. His expertise includes African public policy, public administration, and technological transformations in Africa. He is particularly interested in politics and state transformation politics and how these shape African public policy processes. Despite his Political Science inclinations, Gedion’s research is highly interdisciplinary, covering legislative policymaking, public accountability reforms, anti-corruption and whistleblowing reforms, democratic innovation and innovative technologies (digital technologies in designing public services. He has published extensively and has consulted in these areas. He is an associate editor for the Evidence & Policy Journal and sits in many other international journals' Editorial Boards.
