Dr Kathleen Falster is a Senior Lecturer at UNSW's School of Population Health, where she teaches epidemiological research methods and leads a program of child population health research. Her current research is focused on opportunities to improve child health and development at the population-level, with a focus on disadvantaged populations, including Aboriginal children and children who enter the child protection system. Dr Falster specialises in the use of 'joined-up' routinely collected data from across government sectors (including health, community services and education) and cohort studies to inform and evaluate the policy and practice response to children and families.
