Laura Pinkerton's research at Oxford University's Department of Education centres on the interplay between technology, social boundaries, and power relationships in children's lives. She also works at the Oxford Internet Institute studying the workplace learning practices of online freelancers.
She has worked on various edtech studies in the UK and the US, from smaller-scale qualitative work at the Oxford Internet Institute, to evaluative RCTs at SRI International in the Silicon Valley. Her first degree was in sociology and she holds an MSc in Education (Learning and Technology) from Oxford University.
