Dr Manuela Taboada is a visual designer with over 15 years experience working in the intersection of design, environmental and social sciences.
She has worked as a lecturer, designer and researcher in Australia, Brazil, East-Timor and Fiji, and made contributions in the areas of collaborative design, place identity, design activism, design thinking, community development and stakeholder engagement.
Dr Taboada currently leads a transdisciplinary research project that aims to change behaviour in relation to plastic waste.
Her main research interest is in in the social aspects of design practice, using design as a tool to facilitate the emergence of social identities and behavioral change.
