My work is largely on the interface between psychology and statistics. I'm interested in the complexity of people, particularly in unraveling how our thinking and our environments impact on behaviour. This has driven my interest in statistics as a tool for exploring these complexities.
I previously worked on mental health guidelines for NICE in the UK for several years on topic areas such as depression, anxiety, drug misuse and personality disorders.
I've been at the University of York for the past 7 years where I've been investigating the effectiveness of multiple risk behaviour interventions and contributing to the Cochrane Common Mental Disorders group.
