Nicola Gray is an Affiliated Researcher to the UNESCO Chair for Global Health & Education, and an independent pharmacist researcher in Manchester, UK. Her research and policy interests include young people’s health, medicines information and health literacy. She was a Harkness Fellow in International Health Policy in the Division of Adolescent Medicine in Rochester, New York, USA in 2001/2.
She is a Trustee of the UK Association for Young People's Health, Vice-President of the International Association for Adolescent Health, and a Governing Council member of NCD Child. She was awarded Fellowship of the US Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine in 2010 for research and national leadership in the field of young people’s health.
She has published many research papers and abstracts as an academic pharmacist in previous posts at the Universities of Manchester, London, Nottingham and the University of Central Lancashire. Most recent projects in young people’s health have explored the experience of young people living with juvenile arthritis and their medicines use, and the possible contribution of the pharmacist to assisting children and families by optimizing asthma inhaler technique.
