Paul Anderson, PhD is an Associate Research Professor in School of Pharmacy and Medical Sciences and is Group Leader for the Musculoskeletal Biology Research Laboratories
Paul's research focuses on preventative strategies for preventing or treating bone diseases including rare genetic disorders of mineral metabolism. His research focuses on novel cellular and molecular mechanisms that govern the bone micro-environment. His work includes the understanding of the nutritional and hormonal interactions on bone health, clinical studies related to fracture prevention, fracture healing, diabetes and poor bone health outcomes, and links between genetic mutations and poor bone health. His research in the field of vitamin D includes bone health as well as areas of research in cancer, immunity, and pregnancy. Paul is active in several research societies and is currently the Honorary Secretary to the Australian and New Zealand Bone and Mineral Society.
