Peta is Project Manager and Ph.D. candidate, Heart Health Theme, South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI).
Peta undertook her nursing undergraduate training as part of the first cohort of nurses to complete an undergraduate at the University of Adelaide. Following her undergraduate she specialised in cardiology while completing her Honours, and working in coronary care at a large private hospital. She went on to work as a cardiac nurse specialist at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and found an interest in cardiovascular research. Subsequently taking on the role as a clinical nurse for the Cardiovascular Clinical Research Unit at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and in 2011 began collaborating with the Heart Health Theme at SAHMRI.
