I work on the protection of the environment, public health, and human rights. I have published on a range of topics, including climate change, plastic pollution, air pollution, water and soil contamination, emerging medical technologies, food supplements, and tobacco products. I am particularly interested in the role of courts in the development of law and the relationships between law and life sciences. I discuss many of these issues in my forthcoming book 'Human Rights Approaches to Planetary Crises: From Climate Change to Plastic Pollution', which explores the relevant developments in international law, European Union law, and domestic law in more than 30 countries.

I have an international reputation for policy-oriented research and my work has been cited by legislative, executive, and judicial bodies around the world. I am also a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Human Rights and the Environment, the leading scholarly platform in its field for both academics and practitioners.
