Worked as a commercial pilot and scientific diver; 12 years at NASA/Jet Propulsion Lab, 18 years at the University of Miami as Associate Professor and Professor.
Currently Professor of Geology and Geophysics at the University of South Florida, Tampa.
Fellow of American Geophysical Union (AGU), Geological Society of America (GSA) and American Association of the Advancement of Science (AAAS). Received GSA's Woollard award for excellence in Geophysics in 2010.
