Wayne Peake

Wayne obtained the award Doctor Of Philosophy from The University of Western Sydney for the thesis 'Unregistered proprietary horse racing in Sydney 1888-1942'. He is an adjunct fellow of the School of Humanities and Communication Arts, Western Sydney University. His primary research interests are the cultural history of horseracing, the morphology of the racecourses of Sydney, and historical racecourse design and infrastructure. He worked on the Sydney Olympic Games from 1997 to 2001, as a research librarian specialising in Olympic sports, the manager of the Research Centre within the Main Press Centre at Homebush during Games time, and finally writer and copy editor for the 'Official Report of the Games of the XXVII Olympiad' (i.e., the Sydney Games).
